Nepal has lowest Covid-19 recovery among SAARC countries

Among the SAARC countries, Nepal has the lowest recovery rate from corona. According to the latest figures from the Ministry of Health, the cure rate for corona infection is 56.66 percent.

Experts have analyzed it as a bad sign. The death toll is rising as recovery rates have slowed and serious illnesses are on the rise.

Among the SAARC nations, Sri Lanka has the best corona recovery rate at 94.88 percent. Neighboring India is in third place (76.21 percent). ‘Corona recovery rate is the lowest in Nepal due to weaknesses in the treatment process and lack of identification of the infected,’ said Dr. Krishna Kumar, former director of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control.

GD Thakur said, "The recovery rate should increase but it is declining in Nepal." This is not a good sign, it is a sign of poor covid treatment in the country.

The mortality rate of covid in Nepal is 0.50 percent. The lowest mortality rate among SAARC countries is in Maldives (0.39 percent) and the highest is 3.67 percent in Afghanistan.

India has a mortality rate of 1.84 percent, Bangladesh 1.34 percent, Pakistan 2.13 percent and Sri Lanka 0.40 percent. Of the SAARC nations, so far no one has died in Bhutan.

Dr. Thakur said the death toll could be even higher as many of the deaths in Nepal have not been tested. "We have not been able to compile the statistics of all those who died of corona in the country," he said. The situation is likely to be similar in other parts of the world as well, ”he said.

"The range should be more than the amount of tests, the number of tests should not be tested to reach the number," he said. It has become clear that the number of cases has increased with the increase in testing. '

Another former director of the Division of Epidemiology and Disease Control, Dr. Even Baburam Marasini stressed the need to test more than 25,000 corona every day.

Stating that India is testing up to one million corona every day, he said that infection control is not possible unless other public health procedures are adopted and the scope of testing is widened.

According to the latest statistics, the number of tests are 635,252 in Nepal, 376,51,512 in India, 2,512,337 in Pakistan, 2,13,462 in Sri Lanka, 1,58,055 in Maldives and 90 in Bhutan. A total of 1,559 corona tests have been conducted in Bangladesh, 1,485,261 in Afghanistan and 1,18,093 in Afghanistan.

‘We don’t have Covid’s case management well,’ said Dr. Marasini said, "We didn't start the current drug treatment to cure covid infections quickly, we went to the conclusion that it is viral, it will heal on its own."

Stating that Nepal's condition is not good in the treatment of corona in SAARC countries, he said that the government should immediately improve it in terms of policy.

According to the latest WHO data, the level of Covid-19 disease outbreak in Nepal is 'cluster of cases'. This is a precedent for the spread of infection in the community.

Currently, SAARC countries like Nepal, India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Maldives and Sri Lanka are in the same group. In Bangladesh, the corona infection has spread to the community, while in Bhutan, the corona outbreak has been described by the WHO as a "sporadic case".

The WHO defines the level of corona proliferation as "sporadic case", "cluster of cases" and finally "community transmission". The eight SAARC countries account for more than 21 percent of the world's population.
