President of the ruling Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', senior leaders Jhala Nath Khanal and Madhav Nepal have held discussions with President Vidyadevi Bhandari.
The leaders reached the President's residence Shital Niwas at 11 am on Sunday and held discussions with the President. According to the sources, during the discussion, Chairman Dahal had requested the President not to be involved in the split of the party.
Stating that they have to protect the party unity, they told the President to emphasize on party unity, said a source close to Baluwatar.
The Prime Minister's post has once again come under controversy due to growing internal squabbles within the ruling party and the Prime Minister's frequent meetings with the President. Giving information on current political issues, the leaders urged the President to think before making any government recommendations.
