A 'virtual' interaction has been organized on the priorities of the budget for the coming Fiscal Year 2077/78, focusing on the issue of corona virus epidemic affecting the Nepali economy as well. 

The late Bharat Mohan Adhikari Memorial Foundation has organized a virtual interaction on the occasion of the 85th birth anniversary of the former Finance Minister Adhikari on Saturday.

Former Deputy Chairman of the National Planning Commission Dr. Swarnim Wagle, former MP and former member of Planning Commission Dr. Dillaraj Khanal, Professor Lalbabu Yadav of Tribhuvan University, Economist Dr. Govind Bahadur Thapa, Dr. Bishwa Poudel, Lal Babu Yadav, CPN (Maoist) central member and MP Ram Kumari Jhankri had views on all aspects of the budget including revenue, customs, current and capital expenditure, social security.

Former Finance Minister Adhikari had started sending the budget to the local level through the 'Let's Build Our Own Village' program when he was the Finance Minister in the minority government led by Manmohan Adhikari in 2051 BS.

Similarly, the popular program of giving social security allowance to senior citizens and single women was also brought by the officer.

Adhikari, who was born in Baharanpura, Mahottari on April 7, 1993, passed away at the age of 82 on March 6, 2008.
