T20 Cricket: New Zealand's easy win over Australia

New Zealand has won the T20 cricket series against Australia 3-2. New Zealand easily won last match of the series by seven wickets in Wellington on Sunday.

Australia, who won the toss and elected to bat first in the five-match series, challenged New Zealand for 143 runs to win. New Zealand completed the target with 27 balls to spare, losing three wickets.

New Zealand took the risk by playing three spinners in the final game. But all three spinners bowled well. Spinner Is Sodhi took 3 for 24 and Mark Chapman took 1 for 9 while Mitchell Santner gave away only 21 runs in four overs.

Martin Guptill scored 71 as Australia chased down the target. Guptill hit four fours and four sixes. Conway also scored 36 runs.

New Zealand looked under some pressure after New Zealand captain Ken Williamson was out on the first ball, but Glenn Phillips hit five fours and two sixes to lead the team to a comfortable victory.

Matthew Wade contributed 44, Aaron Finch 36 and Marcus Stoinis 24 for Australia.
