Prachanda submits written reply to Supreme Court

 

Following the directive issued by Supreme Court on the writ of contempt of court, CPN (Maoist) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda has submitted a written reply to Supreme Court.

Chairman Prachanda reached Supreme court on Sunday and submitted a written reply. Prachanda has submitted a written reply saying that he has high respect for the court.

In his reply, it has been mentioned that slogan and speech of procession cannot affect independent and micro-judiciary (court). Prachanda said that statement could not be a defamation of the court as he is only a party leader and an ordinary citizen.

A writ petition was filed against Prachanda for defaming court during the agitation against the dissolution of House of Representatives.

In the writ petition, a single bench of Justice Manoj Kumar Sharma had directed Prachanda to file a written reply within seven days. According to the same order, Prachanda was present at Supreme court with a written reply, according to his private secretariat.

Advocate Samir Hayu had filed a case against Prachanda in Supreme Court alleging that Supreme Court's decision in his favor would bring a storm.
