Decision of cabinet meeting: declaration of martyrdom to exempt electricity tariff 

 

Government has decided to give 100 percent discount to hotels and restaurants for the six-month period of closure of Covid-19 and 50 percent of electricity demand charges for next four months.

Speaking at a press conference at Singha Durbar on Sunday to announce the decision of cabinet, government spokesperson Parbat Gurung said that hotels and restaurants that regularly pay taxes and update on time will be exempted from electricity charges during Corona period.

Spokesperson Gurung said that the meeting also decided to declare Chandra Dangi of Jhapa Birtamod-9 and Ram Prasad Pradhan of Buddhashanti Gaonpalika-1 of the same district as martyrs in the anti-Panchayat movement. Spokesperson Gurung said that meeting has decided to accept goods assistance grant of Rs 1.80 billion from Japan.

Meeting decided to fix minimum support price of wheat at Rs 3,111 per quintal for the current fiscal year, said Gurung. Similarly, Council of Ministers has also decided to publish a notice in Gazette to manage the import of corn betel nut, unwashed pepper and vehicles.
