China claims that Hong Kong better off with the reform of electoral system

Chinese government says China's top official body has voted to reform Hong Kong Special Administrative Region's electoral system.

At a press conference in Beijing, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that reform of Hong Kong electoral system would be beneficial for various parties.

Chinese government said, "It is general rule of the world to protect country from election security. No country in the world can accept an environment in which its regional elections pose a threat to national security.”

Foreign Minister Wang added, "In Hong Kong, law has been amended to lead to social unrest. From this point of view, main problem of Hong Kong at present is to bring violators of law and perpetrators of all kinds of violence to justice. Chinese central government will not make concessions in this regard.”

Foreign Minister Wang said Chinese citizens were satisfied with government's decision. Last year, Hong Kong's security law was approved and enacted, and this year's reform of Hong Kong's electoral system was passed by China's highest official body, eliminating legal risks to political stability and security of governance, and controlling anti-China and anti-Hong Kong forces.

Chinese officials claim that Hong Kong's prosperity and stability are not only in China's interest but also in the interests of the international community.

Chinese officials believe that a politically environmentally friendly and stable society will make Hong Kong more beautiful.
