Lockdown for three days in Auckland, New Zealand

Auckland, New Zealand's largest city, has been shut down following the appearance of corona virus.

Authorities in the UK have been locked down for three days after a new strain of virus was found, international media reported, citing officials. For the first time in New Zealand, three people have been infected with new virus.

After discussions with members of parliament, Prime Minister Jacinda Arden announced a lockdown that would take effect on Wednesday. There has been no lockdown in New Zealand in last six months.

In New Zealand, which has a population of about 5 million, 2,300 people have been infected and 25 have died.
