Congress won’t cooperate with any party

Main opposition Nepali Congress has concluded that it will not cooperate with any party until CPN (Maoist) is formally divided.

Meeting of Nepali Congress office bearers and former office bearers held at the residence of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba in Budhanilkantha on Thursday concluded that there was no time to immediately decide on the proposal made by either party as CPN (Maoist) is officially one.

Saying that issue of changing or giving continuity to KP Oli-led government is in the hands of ruling CPN (Maoist), Joint General Minister said that it would be hasty to draw any conclusion now, informed Prakash Sharan Mahat.

Mahat said that he was reviewing the developed political developments. Mahat said that if a no-confidence motion is tabled in the parliament, it will be discussed at the same time.

Similarly, senior Nepali Congress leader Ram Chandra Poudel said that it would be hasty for party to decide on the government as the situation of CPN (Maoist) split has not been clarified.

Senior leader Poudel said that Congress would clarify its position if the issue came up in the parliament. Poudel said that it was unethical for Prime Minister to go to the parliament once the dissolved House of Representatives was re-established.

As CPN (Maoist) has not been legally divided, Congress has stated that it is not necessary to take any further decision.

Earlier, Prachanda-Madhav party presidents Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' and Madhav Nepal had met Deuba on Wednesday and proposed power-sharing. Congress has 61 MPs in the House of Representatives.
