Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling is organising annual Ngondro (preliminary practice)

This is the seventh year that gonpa has been organising this retreat with monks, nuns and lay practitioners.

This year retreat was conducted following social distancing. Only monks living inside the monastery attended retreat physically.

Others can participate through the official Facebook page of Ka-Nying Shedrup Ling Monastery.

Thirty participants are regularly attending daily sessions through Facebook live where fourteen monks are involved in the monastery itself.

During this retreat, participants are accumulating ngondro according to the Tukdrub Bharche Kunsel cycle of Chokling Tersar.

So far participants have accumulated verses on four mind changing, refugee, bodhichitta and exhausted themselves in prostration.

After a few days of accumulation of Vajrasattva mantra and Mandala offerings. The main part of Guru Yoga began a few days back. Within Guru Yoga are outer, inner and secret yoga.

Participants have successfully completed outer guru yoga and are now indulging in inner guru yoga. With completion of this section one month retreat will come to an end.

This year's retreat is led under supervision of drubla Hopak and lama Jinpa Gyatso. Both the monks have completed a 6 year retreat from Pharping, Nepal.

The 16th Karmapa, Tulku Urgyen Rinpoche and his family constructed  Ka-Nying Shedrub Ling Monastery in 1974 at the holy site of Boudha. From then it has been serving sponsors, devotees and practitioners.
