House of Representatives’ election to be held in two phases on April 30 and May 10

CPN-Prachanda-Nepal faction has drawn attention of Election Commission to stop all election-related programs.

Top leaders of party reached commission on Monday and drew attention of commission to stop election-related activities as the issue of dissolving parliament is under consideration in Supreme Court.

Leader Lilamani Pokharel informed that they have requested to stop such activities immediately as the case is under consideration in the court.

Leader Pokharel said that Election Commission was working to update voters' list and prepare for permanent polling stations and called for stopping all kinds of election-centric activities.

After government has fixed the date of election, commission is working on updating voters’ list and polling stations of permanent nature.

Pokharel said that they have requested to stop the issue as it would affect the issue and Election Commission has also assured to stop work immediately.

Similarly, party has also demanded a copy of all documents of CPN (Maoist) related commission. On the recommendation of Council of Ministers, President Bidhya Devi Bhandari dissolved House of Representatives and announced a new election date.

Government has said that House of Representatives elections will be held in two phases on April 30 and May 10. However, case against the dissolution of House of Representatives is still pending in the Supreme Court.
