From 8th January grand four arms Mahakala is being held

This grand puja is being performed in Benchen Monastery near the renowned Swayambhu Stupa, Nepal. According to Monastery this ritual will daily go on until 13th January 2021.

Mahakala is the chief Dharmapala and the guardian protector of the Buddha's teachings. Four Armed Mahakala are emanations of Buddhas who undertake the role to protect the doctrine, its upholders, and practitioners.

Lord Sakyamuni Buddha taught Mahakala  in the tantra teachings. Wrathful compassion of Mahakala is able to overcome all obstacles and negativities one faces on the path to enlightenment.

In the 1970s Tenga Rinpoche  bought a plot of land and following the advice of his 16th Karmapa the  monastery was built. In 1987 the foundation for Benchen Phuntsok  Dargyeling was laid.

Benchen monastery is dedicated for conservation and dissemination of Tibetan Buddhism in the long run. the monastery also provide medical help support.

This ritual is dedicated to the Long Life of H.H. The 17th Karmapa OrgenThaye Dorje and His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche . The dharma protector Four Armed Mahakala continue to protect Karmapa and their precious Lineage
