Corona vaccine to Croatian president and cabinet members

Most of Croatia's president and cabinet members have been vaccinated against coronavirus. They have publicly vaccinated the media so that they can take photos and videos.

It is said that high-ranking officials have publicly vaccinated to increase the confidence and attraction of general public towards vaccination.

As soon as they were vaccinated on Thursday, general vaccination campaign against corona began in Croatia. But the vaccination process started on December 27.

Government plans to immediately vaccinate 20,000 people in a country with a total population of 4.2 million. Since not everyone can be vaccinated, those on the priority list will be vaccinated at the beginning.

Government initially made a policy of vaccinating health workers, chronically ill and those over 65, officials said. Apart from that, other citizens will be vaccinated at other stages, according to government officials.

Fizer Bioentech vaccine is used in Croatia. A survey of vaccines found that 44 percent were uninterested in vaccinations.

Similarly, 46 percent have expressed their views in favor of vaccination while 10 percent have stated that they are undecided on whether to vaccinate or not.

"I am clear that all citizens should be vaccinated against corona, and I want to make sure that it is in place," said President Joran Milanovic. Talking to reporters after he was vaccinated, he said that ten members of the cabinet had been vaccinated.

Croatian Prime Minister Andrzej Plenkovic and six other ministers have previously been infected with coronavirus. Since the outbreak, more than 200,000 people have been infected with coronavirus in Croatia and more than 4,000 have died.
