Peaceful protest in Kathmandu demanding opening of night traders

Committee for Operation and Management of Dohori Sajh and Night Business has staged a peaceful demonstration in Kathmandu demanding immediate reopening of Dohori Sajh and night business.

On Thursday, participants in Kathmandu's Maitighar staged a demonstration saying that government has not shown any interest in opening this area.

Protestors said that they had to take to the streets saying that there was no hearing despite repeated requests to government and all concerned to run their business.

Committee complains that Covid-19 has disrupted Nepal's economy and that the biggest hit has been Dohori Sajh in the evenings and nights.

Protestors have demanded that all areas be opened and now Dohori Sajh and night business should be allowed to operate. Committee has also warned to start next phase of agitation if their demands are not heard in time.
