Nepali Shanti Sena control violence in South Sudan

Nepal Army deployed under the United Nations Shanti Sena mission in South Sudan has taken control of violence. After violence was brought under control, Nepal Army has protected locals from possible major ethnic violence.

According to a statement issued by Nepal Army's Directorate of Public Relations and Information, "Nepalese Shanti Sena deployed from temporary base of Kalidhwaj Battalion deployed in Kuwait region of South Sudan on November 26 to protect locals from possible ethnic violence."

Clashes between Congolese and L people erupted after one person was killed. A team of Nepal Army under the command of Brigadier General Bigyan Bista was mobilized from TOB to spot after receiving news of further escalation of violence. Nepal Army team had stopped the clash between two castes.

After the security situation in area returned to normal, other members of UN mission began to work for peace.
