On Wednesday, the US government allowed immigrants from six countries, including Nepal, to stay for an additional nine months. Now American lawsuit is currently pending in the United States over whether to close the TPS program.

With Wednesday's decision, citizens of El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua and Sudan in the United States will be allowed to stay in the United States for an additional nine months.

Their visa to stay in US was about to finish on Jan 4. Now, citizens of these six countries will be allowed to stay in the United States until October 2021 legally. There are currently 15,000 Nepali citizens living in the United States under the TPS program.
