CPN (Maoist) committee meeting recommends to take action against party chairman KP Oli

A meeting of the Committee of the Communist Party of Nepal (CPN) has recommended to take disciplinary action against party chairman KP Oli.

A meeting held at the PM's residence in Baluwatar decided to recommend Oli to the Central Committee for action, said spokesperson Narayan Kaji Shrestha.

He said that a meeting of the Central Committee has been convened on May 22 to take a proposal to the Central Committee for disciplinary action against Oli.

He said that the decision was taken by the standing committee as Prime Minister Oli had acted against the mandate by dissolving the parliament. He also informed that it has been decided to seek legal redressal against the Prime Minister's move.

He informed that a meeting of the parliamentary parties will be held on Monday at 1 pm and a meeting of the standing committee will be held on Monday at 3 pm.

The meeting also decided to nominate former Speaker Krishna Bahadur Mahara to the standing committee. Whereas Oli's party leaders had not attended the meeting.
