A lamp-lighting program was held in protest against the campaign to save the Swayambhu World Heritage Site. The campaign of lamp-lighting was held in Swayambhu on Saturday evening.

Acharya Norbu Sherpa, chairman of the campaign, said that they were protesting against the demolition of historical, religious and cultural boundaries of the Swayambhu region, which is listed in the World Heritage List.

He said that the demolition of the 75-foot-high wall with hand gems and a thousand Buddhas sangye tong in the Swayambhu area should be stopped immediately as it is against religious and cultural heritage.

The campaign has stated that a peaceful silent rally will be held on December 12 at Swayambhu premises in protest. Similarly, the campaign has stated that it has decided to submit memorandums to various bodies regarding its demands.
