Musical dummy campaign launched by traffic police to raise awareness

Metropolitan Traffic Police has launched a musical dummy campaign from Saturday to increase traffic awareness. Chief of Metropolitan Police Office, DIG Bishwaraj Pokharel, inaugurated the campaign in the middle of a program.

In order to increase road civilization and reduce road accidents by making road education program effective, department has placed 45 traffic dummies along various roads in Kathmandu Valley since September 1 with the support of Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

To make campaign more effective and to increase traffic rules, road discipline and road awareness, Musical Dummy Campaign has been launched from today.

Chief of Traffic Division, SSP Bhim Prasad Dhakal, said that campaign was launched as Geet Sangeet is a dear friend of every person in every situation.

SSP Dhakal mentioned that road users have been made aware of the need to follow traffic rules by placing dummies in the crossroads and playing traffic awareness songs.

Department expects at least 50 road users to benefit every half hour and more than 3,000 to receive traffic education daily. Thus, goal of this program is to give awareness to one lakh road users in a month.
