Journalist jailed for five years for writing news about Corona in China

Chinese government is going to punish a journalist who writes news about Corona. Zhang Jhan, a 37-year-old journalist, has been sentenced to five years in prison, according to BBC.

According to BBC, Jhan, who is also a former lawyer, has been under police control since last May.

Jhan is accused of writing news of Corona and causing various problems. China has been raising such issues, especially against engineers.

Since February, China has detained three journalists, including Jhan. One of them, journalist Li Lihua, was found last April. Jhan said she was in quarantine. Similarly, Chen QC was said to be under government surveillance.

Another journalist, Fang Win, is still missing. Jhan arrived in Wuhan last February to cover various news events. From where she wrote news on various topics.

She was sentenced to five years in prison.
