Congress MP Mohan Pandey takes oath

MP Mohan Pandey has taken oath of office and secrecy on behalf of Nepali Congress.

Speaker Agni Prasad Sapkota administered oath of office and secrecy to Pandey at Parliament Secretariat on Monday. After taking oath of office and secrecy, Speaker Sapkota wished Pandey a successful tenure.

The post was vacant after the death of Surya Bahadur KC, a member of House of Representatives. Surya Bahadur KC, had become a proportional MP from Khas Arya Kota. After taking oath of office and secrecy, Pandey said he would work for the country and people.

Pandey mentioned that the role of opposition in parliament should be strengthened. Stating that unity among parties is necessary for the development of country, Pandey said that work is being done to weaken parties now.

Pandey, who graduated in management from Tribhuvan University, was also the first member of Constituent Assembly. At that time, Pandey was elected from Syangja Constituency No. 3.
