Worshiping Goddess Skandamata Bhagwati on the fifth day of Dashain

On Wednesday, the fifth day of Navratri under Bada Dashain, Hindus worship Goddess Skandamata Bhagwati as a source of strength.

On the fifth day of Navratri, Lord Skanda Kumar Kartikeya is called by the name of Skandamata, as she always holds the child form in her arms and gives affection.

Holding Skanda kumar Kartikeya in her arms with her upper hand on the right side of the four hands, she is riding on a lion with a lotus flower in her lower left hand and a bermudra in her upper hand. Being the presiding deity of the solar system, her character is as radiant as the sun.

On this occasion, Hindus are worshiping Lord Navadurga in various Shakti Peeths of Ashta Matrika, which have been originated and replaced since ancient times.

They have also recited Durga Saptashati Chandi along with the worship of Durga Bhawani and replacement of Jamara kept in their homes.
