The United States has warned China that it is trying to gain control of Taiwan. U.S. NAS Robert O'Brien says China is building a large navy.
O’ Biren says he has never seen such preparations before, except when Britain built the Royal Navy before World War I.
Speaking at an event at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas, O'Brien said China's goal was to occupy the western Pacific Ocean and gain control of Taiwan.
O'Brien warned that it was impossible to say what the United States would do if China attacked. O'Brien called on Taiwan to be militarily strong for its security.
