US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and his Indian counterpart S Jaishankar are scheduled to meet on Tuesday, State Department officials said.
They are going to Japan to participate in the second QUAD. Their Japanese and Australian counterparts have also participated in it. The US and Indian foreign ministers are meeting for the first time since the recent border dispute between China and India.
While in Japan, Pompeo is scheduled to meet with newly elected Japanese Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi.
He expressed confidence that positive results would be achieved after the meeting. He told reporters that his visit was going to be very good this time
