For the first time in 67 years, a woman is being executed in the United States.

Lisa Montgomery, convicted of a 2004 crime, will be sentenced to death by lethal injection on December 8. At eight months old, Lisa killed a pregnant woman in Missouri and abducted her baby.

Earlier, on December 18, 1953, a woman named Bonnie Brown Heady was sentenced to death in the United States. At 67, Lisa is the first woman to be executed in the United States.
