The second day of Tika

On the day of Ashwin Shukla Ekadashi, process of receiving tika continues.

The process of offering Tika and Jamra as offerings of Nava Durga, which started on the day of Vijayadashami, continues on the second day of Ashwin Shukla Ekadashi.

Since there is a tradition of going to the family and relatives for tika after tika in the family, general public receives tika and jamara on the day of Kojagrat Purnima until all the sacrifices are completed.

Hindus have a tradition of celebrating Bada Dashain festival grandly for 15 days from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada to Ashwin Shukla Purnima.

On the day of Ashwin Shukla Pratipada, Vedic method begins with the anointing of the pitcher set up in Dashain house or worship room, and immersion of goddess in the morning on the day of Vijayadashami.

This year, number of people getting tika due to corona virus infection seems to be lower than last year. There is a classical belief that Vijaya Dashami was started as a symbol of victory of truth over untruth.
