Players start training

Nepali national football team, which is playing friendly football with Bangladesh amid corona virus epidemic, has started training from Thursday.

Nepal has started training at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwor from Thursday for a friendly match against Bangladesh. Training started after National Sports Council (NSC) gave permission to ANFA.

Nepal has started the training under the leadership of Bal Gopal Maharjan. As head coach Johan Kalin is in Sweden, ANFA has given Maharjan the responsibility of looking after the team.

Earlier, ANFA had stated that Kalin could not return to Nepal after Swedish government tightened his visit due to corona virus epidemic.

Similarly, Kiran Shrestha is assistant coach of the team and Vikas Malla is the goalkeeper coach. Earlier, players were not allowed to train due to lockdown and ban imposed by the government on April 25.

Nepal will play two friendly matches against Bangladesh in Dhaka. The first friendly match will be played at Bangbandhu Stadium in Dhaka on November 13. The second friendly will be held on November17.

Nepal, which is playing the second round of the FIFA World Cup qualifiers, is going to play a friendly game in preparation. Nepal has not played against Bangladesh after clean championship.
