Ministry of Health expresses concern

Ministry of Health has expressed concern over the rapid increase in corona infection in Kathmandu Valley.

Speaking at a regular press conference of Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Jageshwar Gautam, spokesperson of Ministry of Health and Population, said that despite the dire situation of corona infection, the movement of people has increased and no measures have been taken to prevent corona infection.

Dr. Gautam said that although people understood about the use of masks, social distance and washing hands with soap and water or using sanitizers, the measures to avoid corona were not implemented in practice.

Urging to celebrate Dashain, Tihar and other festivals at home in a normal way to control corona infection, Dr. Gautam said that corona infection will not decrease unless everyone is aware and vigilant.

Dr. Gautam also urged senior citizens above 60 years of age, pregnant women, children and chronically ill not to leave their homes and not to come in contact with other people.

Ministry of Health has also instructed health workers and other staff involved in the treatment of Covid 19 to stay in quarantine or home isolation only if they have corona symptoms or a positive report.

Dr. Gautam said that Department of Drug Management has given permission to Pharmachem Distributors Pvt. Ltd., Synergy Overseas Pvt. And Hetro Labs Limited in India has been given permission to import and sell remedicivir from the company.
