Continuous market monitoring

Department of Commerce, Supplies and Consumer Protection has stated that it is continuously monitoring the market to control the possible fraud during the festival.

At a program organized in Kathmandu on Thursday, Director General of Department Netra Prasad Subedi said that the market is being monitored continuously on the basis of accurate information.

Director General Subedi said that coordination with other departments and agencies is also needed for monitoring. Director General Subedi said that department has now prepared a draft code of conduct for the market monitoring team.

Director General Subedi stressed the need for other parties to play a role in making the monitoring effective.

Similarly, Subedi said that the company that was sending expired goods to the market in Kathmandu for a few days was sealed and would proceed in accordance with the law.

Similarly, Kathmandu Chief District Officer Janak Raj Dahal claimed that continuous work was being done to maintain good governance.

Dahal expressed his commitment to take legal action against those who blackmail, cheat and play games on the health of the consumers.

Participants in the program said that all parties should work together to discourage black marketing and fraud during the festival.
