All government hospitals in valley now Covid Hospitals

Government has decided to make all government hospitals covid hospitals.

As the number of corona infections is increasing, Ministry of Health has decided to turn all government hospitals in the Kathmandu Valley into covid hospitals for their treatment.

Decision was taken at a meeting of the Incident Command Committee held on September 10 in the presence of Health Minister Bhanubhakta Dhakal, said Ministry spokesperson Dr Jageshwor Gautam.

Spokesperson Gautam also said that it has been decided to manage ICU and ventilator oxygen in the hospitals of valley for intensive treatment.

Ministry has also directed all the hospitals in valley not to perform surgeries except for emergencies, asking them to manage ICUs and ventilators for the treatment of corona infections.

Dr Gautam said that if there was a shortage of surgeries in hospitals, ICUs and ventilators would be available for corona infection. Spokesperson Gautam informed that the necessary budget has already been provided for the construction of provience level transfer hospital.

Spokesperson Gautam informed that ministry has also directed to conduct awareness program at ward level to prevent senior citizens and chronically ill from having direct contact with other people and also to monitor the infections in home isolation from ward level and those who come in contact with them.
