Accusation of government neglect in corona control and prevention: Sher Bahadur Deuba

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has accused the government of neglecting control and prevention of corona.

Understanding the report of Corona Monitoring Committee formed by the party under the convener ship of Joint General Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat on Friday, he accused government of playing games in the lives of the poor people by not even providing free PCRs.

Chairman Deuba also accused the government of embezzling funds from donors for corona control. Chairman Deuba said that government has not been able to manage isolations even though corona in Kathmandu Valley has become dangerous recently.

Chairman Deuba alleges that government has not done enough to ensure the isolation of at least 1,000 beds in Kathmandu and other states. Government provides immediate ventilator, as required.

Chairman Deuba warned to agitate if isolation is not provided with oxygen. Deuba said that the government has not acted in favor of the people even though Congress has said that it will provide unconditional support for the prevention and control of Corona.

Chairman Deuba said that the party would also demand to convene a meeting of parliament if government does not work on behalf of the people. Chairman Deuba said that government would be forced to work on behalf of the people by convening a meeting of the parliament on the 10th.

Co-ordinator of Corona Monitoring Committee and Joint General Minister Prakash Sharan Mahat handed over the report of the Covid 19 Monitoring Committee to the chairperson and accused the government of spreading false information to the people by presenting it in the style of propaganda.

General Minister Mahat accused government of not paying much attention to the issue even though it was constantly drawing the attention of government on the basis of facts after holding discussions with the stakeholders.

General Minister Mahat also informed that he had submitted a brief report to the chairperson covering various sectors. Corona has left millions of young people unemployed and the poverty rate skyrocketing, said Mahat.
