Thankot-Sisnekhola Tunnel work Resumes

Construction of the Thankot-Nagdhunga-Sisnekhola tunnel has started. The construction of the tunnel started at the main entrance to the capital about a year after the foundation stone was laid. Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli laid the foundation stone of the tunnel on Kartik 24, 2076.

Gajendra Thapaliya, development management expert of Prime Minister Oli, informed that the construction work of the tunnel has been started as a 'dream project' of the country by resolving various problems and obstacles.

He said, "Construction of the tunnel has been started simultaneously from both Kathmandu and Dhading. Now, the work will continue." The construction could not start as the Nepal Army did not give permission for compensation dispute and supply of explosives.

Thapaliya, an expert who monitored the construction site of the tunnel, said that there was no problem in continuing the construction work. Under the supervision of the project director of the construction company workers are working 24 hours a day.

"I have asked the project director to contact me as soon as possible if there is any problem during the construction," he said. This news has been written by Bhouch Prasad Yadav in today's Gorkhapatra daily.
