Repair started on Kalanki Nagdhunga road

Kalanki-Tripureshwor (Nagdhunga) road, which was completed last year, is being repaired as it has to be repaired by the construction company for 13 months.

Kathmandu Valley Road Expansion Project has stated that Kalanki to Nagdhunga section is being repaired as it has been repaired from Tripureshwor to Kalanki.

According to the project chief master officer, company has constructed road within 13 months after the completion of construction, but when there is a problem, it has to be repaired.

"Work is underway to rectify the error in this section," said chief official. "It will be handed over to the Division Roads Office after the work is completed."

This road is the first completed road in the valley. Although a contract was signed for the road expansion five years ago, the construction was halted for two years due to obstructions by locals living along the road.

Government had decided to blacken the available width after locals refused to demolish the house. This road was constructed along with Chabahil (Sankhu) road on the basis of the same decision.

While constructing the road only in the available width, the width has been maintained at half the length as per the criteria.

The project has constructed snow pipes and pedestrian routes on both sides only in places where the width is 22 meters as per the standards.

Pedestrian routes will be constructed only after the road becomes available in the places where the width is less. RSS
