Paragliding coming into operation from 1st October

Paragliding, which has been closed for the past seven months due to corona virus epidemic, will resume operations on October 1. As soon as the government started domestic flights, paragliding will also come into commercial operation from 1 October.

Krishna Bhandari, chairman of Naka, an air sports organization, said that paragliding will start commercially from 1 October following a trial period and following all health safety standards. Bhandari said that although it would take time to return to the old condition, the service will be provided targeting domestic tourists.

Paragliding company has instructed the company, which was closed due to Corona's risk, to resume booking. The company operating commercial paragliding flights in Pokhara had to bear a loss of around Rs 500 million during the lockdown, said Naka General Secretary Balram Acharya.

Paragliding, which is currently on trial, is operating according to certain safety standards. According to the Federation of Aeronautical International (FAI), Pokhara is one of the best destinations for paragliding. There are many challenges to restore it.

Fifty-five companies fly paragliding daily from Sarangkot, Toripani and Mandre Dhunga in Pokhara. In the early days, paragliding was done by foreign pilots. About 2,000 people have got direct employment from paragliding.
