A number of people were injured after multiple stabbings were reported in a "major incident" in Birmingham city center, in the United Kingdom, on Sunday, according to police.
"We can confirm that at approximately 12:30 a.m. today (Sunday 6) we were called to reports of a stabbing in Birmingham city center. We immediately attended, along with colleagues from the ambulance service.
A number of other stabbings were reported in the area shortly after," West Midlands Police said in a statement. The force has declared the stabbing a major incident.
"We are aware of a number of injured people, but at the moment we are not in a position to say how many or how serious," the statement added.
Police said emergency services are working at the scene to make sure those who are injured receive medical care.
