Management weak for corona control and prevention

Krishna Prasad Adhikari, registrar of Nepal Medical Council, said government's management of corona control and prevention was weak.

At a sub-committee meeting held at Singha Durbar on Tuesday to monitor government's work on Covid 19 under the Education and Health Committee under the House of Representatives, registrar Adhikari said the government had done a lot for Corona but failed to manage it.

Adhikari argued that it was not appropriate to allocate a quota of beds for corona treatment in the Valley Hospital at present.

Adhikari also opined that there should be a separate hospital for corona treatment in the valley and a separate hospital for other treatments.

The official accused government of engaging in unnecessary arguments, saying that various suggestions to health minister for corona treatment had not been implemented.

During the meeting, Registrar of Nepal Health Practitioners Council Pushparaj Khanal argued that government was unnecessarily checking PCR.

Registrar, Khanal said that government has failed to make PCR by filing certain files in the required places.

Khanal argued that the lab was made unnecessarily for the corona investigation. Registrar, Khanal said that existing corona can be checked only with the existing infrastructure.

Registrar, Khanal argued that establishment of corona checks in every state and every place has only increased the cost.

In the meeting, the committee members discussed with the heads of various agencies about the status of corona investigation and the efforts made for its prevention and control.
