Hotels to operate from Asoj 1, Tourism activities on Kartik 1 - no decision on educational institutions

The government has decided to allow the hotel business to operate from Asoj 1  after fulfilling the health standards.

Government Spokesperson and Minister for Foreign Affairs Pradip Gyawali said that the hotel, restaurant, hiking and travel business can be run by fulfilling the health standards set by the Ministry of Health and Population.

The Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation will monitor their non-compliance with health and safety.

Similarly, permission has been granted to bring technical manpower from abroad in various development projects in Nepal.

For that, it has been made mandatory for such manpower to present a report showing PCR negative within 72 hours.

It has also been decided to continue teaching and learning through distance and alternative education in case it is not possible to conduct classes with the presence of students in such schools.

The government has decided to continue to close more crowded areas such as educational institutions, exams centers, seminars, seminars, cinema halls, dance bars, salons, swimming pools, group games, religious and social venues, libraries, museums and zoos, said government spokesperson Gyawali.

These areas will be opened only after another decision is made.

It has been decided to allow tourists coming to Nepal for mountaineering and trekking purposes from Kartik 1. For that, a PCR negative report 72 hours in advance is required.

Spokesperson Gyawali said the country was facing a health and economic crisis.

At a press conference held at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology on Bhadra 19 and 29 to announce the cabinet decision, government spokesperson Gyawali said that failure to find a proper solution to the health and economic crisis would pose a big risk.

"We're still not at the peak of the pandemic, with thousands being infected and people dying every day," he said. At such a time, every citizen should consider himself a front line soldier against Covid-19. '

So far, 56,788 people have been infected with Covid-19 in Nepal. Similarly, 371 people have died due to the infection.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the coverage of Covid-19 in some media, he said that such talk would create confusion among the people. He also urged all the operating areas to adhere to the health standards.
