Meteorologists have said that there is a possibility of thunder / lightning rain in some parts of the country even today (Friday).
According to Sajina Shakya, a meteorologist at the Meteorological Department, most of the Terai region of the country is partial (sunny, low cloud) at this time (Friday morning) and normal (mostly cloudy, low sun) in the hilly areas. The sun is also seen in Kathmandu Valley at this time.
In the afternoon, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in some parts of the country (everywhere from east to west), according to the weather forecast bulletin issued by the department on Friday morning. There is no possibility of heavy rain in the afternoon.
On the same night, the weather is generally cloudy across the country and there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder/lightning in some places. There is also a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places in Province 1 and Gandaki.
The branch has also issued a warning requesting to be vigilant for 24 hours from 6 am on Friday to 6 am on Saturday. It is requested to take necessary precaution as there is a possibility of heavy rain in one or two places of Province 1 and Gandaki Province.
According to the records kept by the branch on its website till 5:45 pm on Thursday, there was no heavy rain anywhere during the day.
