Disaster Management Council is going to formulate procedures for the relocation and rehabilitation of the settlements at high risk of landslides.
A council meeting chaired by Prime Minister KP Oli in Baluwatar on Thursday decided to work out procedures for relocation and reconstruction of high-risk settlements within 10 days.
Anil Pokharel, executive chief of National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Authority, said that it has been decided to formulate procedures to reduce the risk of natural calamities as damage of natural calamities has increased after 100 days of the onset of monsoon.
Pokharel informed that settlements in high risk will be relocated or rehabilitated as per the need.
Pokharel also informed that a strategy will be formulated for proper management of those who have been living uncomfortable lives due to natural calamities.
