Government has decided not to charge more than Rs 4,400 for PCR testing of COVID19.
According to Dr Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health, it has been decided that the labs that are allowed to test Corona for a fee will be allowed to charge a maximum of Rs 4,400 including service fee.
But hospitals with laboratories or own labs will have to pay PCR test for Rs 4,000. Hospitals that do not have their own labs will be able to charge an additional Rs 400 for PPE and other fees, said spokesperson Gautam.
Earlier, ministry had charged Rs 5,500 for PCR test. However, government has fixed the fee for PCR test after receiving complaints that some private hospitals are charging more than that.
