Women’s Cricket Team also insured against Covid-19

Cricket Association Nepal(CAN) has also insured the corona of the national women's cricket team. CAN, which insured a total of 51 corona players, including 21 men's team players, on Saturday, said in a press release on Tuesday that 18 national women's cricketers also had been insured for corona.

Earlier, CAN had said that the women's team's corona insurance could be done after looking at the need, but the insurance was provided immediately.

CAN Secretary Ashok Nath Pyakurel informed that the corona of the players of the 13th South Asian Games (SAG) T20 cricket team held last Mangsir has been insured. Through IME General Insurance, CAN has insured each player for one lakh rupees.

Due to the Corona epidemic, both the men's and women's teams are unlikely to play international games this year. The men's team is scheduled to play the Asia Teams Asia Cup in Bangladesh in December. However, the competition is not certain.

The Nepali women's cricket team played in Mangsir during SAG, which is the last competition. At that time, the women's team had won a historic bronze medal by defeating Maldives.

Similarly, CAN has announced that the annual general meeting of CAN has been postponed due to the increasing infection of Covid-19. CAN Secretary General Ashok Nath Pyakurel said in a statement on Tuesday that CAN, which is preparing to hold a general meeting in the middle of this month, has been postponed until further notice due to the Corona epidemic.

A new working committee was elected under the chairmanship of Chatur Bahadur Chand in the second week of Asoj last year. Following the election in 2073, the International Cricket Council (ICC) conditionally lifted the ban on CAN on 27 Asoj.

Therefore, CAN has not yet been able to create a fully working environment.
