Indonesia's Bali not to be open for 2020

Due to the risk of corona virus infection, the Indonesian island of Bali will not be open to foreign tourists this year. Bali is one of the most visited places by tourists.

Indonesia has decided to continue its ban on tourists to Bali this year amid growing infections. This decision has created a new crisis in Bali’s economy.

Millions of foreign tourists visit here every year. They go to see the empty beaches, terraced paddy fields and Hindu temples. But tourist traffic has stalled after Indonesia closed its border after the corona outbreak spread around the world.

Efforts have been made to save the tourism-related economy by opening it to domestic tourists from the end of July. Meanwhile, temples and other tourist spots were opened for tourists at that time.

However, workers working in restaurants, hotels and resorts are returning to the village looking for work. Bali is set to remain closed until the end of 2020.

Corona virus infection has been confirmed in 4,576 people in Bali and 52 people have died. In Indonesia, more than 155,000 corona have been confirmed and 6,759 have died.
