Pregnant women of Kapilvastu Banganga, who were forced to give birth at home due to non-payment of ambulance fare, will now get free ambulance service.
The Banganga Municipality has started free ambulance service to promote full institutional maternity service i.e. no home delivery program.
The ambulance service has been provided free of cost to ensure that no pregnant woman is deprived of the services of a health facility for delivery, said Bishnu Poudel, spokesperson of the municipality.
Spokesperson of municipality, Bishnu Poudel said that six ambulances are being prepared at three birth centers operating at Pipra Hospital, Hathausa Health Center and Kopwa Health Post in the municipality.
Spokesperson Poudel said that the municipality will pay the fare up to Butwal in case of delivery at the health facility within the municipality.
