15 Soldiers Confirmed With Covid-19 Infection in Army Barracks in Jaleshwor

Corona infection has spread inside the Nepal Army barracks at Jaleshwor, the district headquarters of Mahottari. Chief District Officer of Mahottari Krishna Bahadur Katuwal informed that corona infection was found in 15 soldiers of Ranbhim Gana Parkauli Barracks. Corona has been seen in 15 troops, one on Monday and 14 on Tuesday.

Corona has been confirmed in 15 people including a captain. Earlier, eight people were infected in the army. The Chief of Middle East Prituna  in Province 2 was also infected with Corona.

So far, 916 people have been infected with corona in Mahottari, said Girendra Kumar Jha, information officer at the health office in Mahottari and Covid focal person. One of the infected has died.

The office of Jaleshwor Municipality has been sealed after a corona infection was found in 23 employees. According to Jha, a few days ago, an overseer working at the municipal office confirmed the corona.

He had informed his office in Biratnagar after the staff found the infection after examining Corona. A corona test of 53 people, including those who came for contract tracing, infection was found in 30 of those people.

Restrictions have been enforced in Wards 3 and 5 of Jaleswar and Mahottari after the infection rate of corona started increasing.

It is suspected that corona infection has spread at the community level in Mahottari. A health office has been set up at the village level to check corona. Swab samples of 50 people from each ward of all 15 local levels of Mahottari are being checked.

The Ministry of Health and Population has prepared to check the corona by collecting swabs from the families who have come on a risky journey, people with no infection in the family, and those with no corona confirmed in their neighbors so far.

The Director General of the Department of Health Services under the Ministry of Health and Population, Dr. Dipendra Ranam Singh's team has reached Mahottari.

The team is conducting on-site observation about the management of quarantine and isolation and the vigilance adopted at the border.
