Sarita Giri formally resigned from the post of Member of Parliament

Sarita Giri, a member of the Federal Parliament from the Samajwadi Party, has formally resigned from the post.

The Parliament Secretariat issued a notice on Thursday stating that the parliamentary seat of Sirita Giri is vacant. The Samajwadi Party had decided to expel Sarita Giri from the party, saying that Giri had registered an amendment to the constitution amendment proposal to include the territory including Limpiyadhura contrary to the party's directives.

The Samajwadi Party had informed the Parliament Secretariat about the removal of Sarita Giri from the parliamentary seat as per the party's decision.

After Kalapani, Lipulek and Limpiyadhura were included in the map of Nepal, Giri had been speaking against it in and outside the parliament. Giri was elected MP from the proportional Khas Arya quota.
