Restrictions Placed after Coronavirus Seen in Community in Jumla

An indefinite restraining order has been issued in Jumla from 3 pm on Tuesday after a local businessman  was diagnosed with corona infection. The District Administration Office, Jumla has informed that a restraining order has been issued at Ward No. 5 of Chandannath Municipality in Khalanga, the district headquarters of Jumla.

Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa informed that the ban was imposed after a corona infection was found during a PCR test at Karnali Health Sciences Academy Teaching Hospital, Jumla.

According to him, 16 people who have been infected at different times have been kept in isolation at Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital.

A statement signed by Chief District Officer Bhupendra Thapa states that a restraining order has been issued from 3 pm on July 12, 2077 BS until further notice at Dansanghu in the east of Chandannath municipality, Umgad in the west, Karnali Technical School in the north and Tila river area in the south.

The injunction said, "It has been decided to close all activities except pharmacy health services." In Jumla, 51 of the 65 corona infected have recovered and returned home.

Similarly, there are 14 people in isolation at present, said Dr. Mangal Rawal, Hospital Director of Karnali Institute of Health Sciences Teaching Hospital, Jumla.

It is stated that 4,486 people from outside the district have undergone PCR test. Earlier, a three-day restraining order was issued in Khalanga, the district headquarters of Jumla, alleging that the locals had violated the lockdown.
