The government has given permission to operate public transportation within districts including the valley.
Announcing the decision of the cabinet at Singha Durbar on Thursday, government spokesperson Dr Yubaraj Khatiwada said the government has given permission to operate public transport in all the three districts of the Kathmandu Valley.
Khatiwada said that arrangements have been made to operate public transport in other districts only within the district. Arrangement has been made to accommodate only 50 percent of the passengers including the driver.
The government has stated that all passengers should wear masks and sanitizer should be provided in the vehicle. It is said that only 50 percent of the capacity of the vehicle can be accommodated in one row.
Similarly, it has been decided to allow taxis to operate as well. Spokesperson Khatiwada informed that an arrangement has been made to charge 50 percent extra fare for the passengers traveling in public transport other than taxis.
Khatiwada also said that legal remedy could be sought for the anti-Nepal news in the Indian media. Minister Khatiwada said that the news in the Indian media could be discussed through diplomacy and suggested that the Indian media itself should be disciplined.
Similarly, giving information about the decision taken by the cabinet meeting held on July 7,Minister Khatiwada has directed the Nepal Red Cross Society to give an explanation within seven days.
It has decided to accept Rs 54 billion loan assistance from the World Bank for improving trade demand and Rs 18 billion loan assistance for urban infrastructure projects.
A three-member recommendation committee has been formed under the coordination of Secretary at the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development Rajendra Bhari for the appointment of the chief of the Agriculture Research Council (ARC), said spokesperson Khatiwada.
