Korea Raises Minimum Wage Of Workers, Including Nepalese

The minimum wage for Nepali workers working in South Korea has been increased.

The Wage Determination Committee has increased the wages of domestic and foreign workers working in Korea by 130 Korean Won with effect from 2021. At the same time, the salary of Nepalis has also increased.

Repeated meetings of trade union representatives, industry unions and government employees have decided to increase wages by 130 won per hour, or 1.5 percent of current wages.

As per the decision, the minimum wage will reach 8,720 won per hour from 2021. In other words, the minimum wage of Nepalis working in Korea will reach Rs 870 per hour.

The minimum wage of a worker who completes 209 hours of labor per month will reach around Rs. 180,000, i.e. 18 lakh 22 thousand 480 won.

Wages, which rose 2.9 percent in 2020, have risen slightly this year. It is said that the salary increase may have been reduced due to the Corona epidemic which made it difficult for some companies to operate.
