Discussions have been held between CPN (Maoist) Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda to resolve the dispute within the party.
On behalf of Prime Minister Oli, Secretariat Member Ishwor Pokharel, General Secretary Bishnu Poudel, Standing Committee Member Shankar Pokharel and leaders from Prachanda Group Barshaman Pun and Janardan Sharma participated in the discussion held at the PM's residence in Baluwatar on Sunday afternoon.
The two presidents held talks with allied leaders amid controversy within the party demanding the resignation of the prime minister. The controversy erupted after a majority of members of the standing committee demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Oli.
Discussions are taking place at the top level after the dispute escalated. The CPN (Maoist) Standing Committee meeting has also been postponed till Monday to resolve the dispute.
