Minister for Land Reforms, Minister for Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation Padma kumari Aryal has informed that the concept of land bank will be implemented from this fiscal year.

Replying to a question raised by the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives and Poverty Alleviation under the Appropriation Bill, 2077 BS in the House of Representatives on Monday, she informed that the concept of land bank would be implemented from this Fiscal Year to ensure that land remains barren and unused and ensure proper use of vacant lands.

According to Minister Aryal, the plan is to move forward in a completely new, original and creative way.

Minister Aryal said that work has started to remove encroachment on government public lands and take back the occupied lands as announced by the government through policies and programs.

She said that about 500 bigahs of land has been returned to the Government of Nepal so far.

Minister Aryal also said that the ministry is engaged in mapping, preserving and managing the net measurement of international borders.

Publishing new Nepal’s map including Lipulek, Kalapani and limpiyadhura makes her happy and also other border issues could also be solved by one-one talk or with the meetings.

During the meeting, Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Bina Magar claimed that it was time to address the issues related to the Melamchi Drinking Water Project meeting.

Replying to a question raised by the lawmakers on Monday on the Ministry of Drinking Water in the annual budget of the Fiscal Year 2077/07, Minister Magar said that the government was in favor of announcing the date of inauguration of Melamchi Drinking Water.

She also mentioned that clean drinking water will be provided to 120,000 people by completing seven projects next year.

She informed that programs have been prepared to ensure the right of every citizen to clean drinking water and sanitation, to achieve the sustainable development goals and the goals included in the Fifteenth Plan.
